Get Your Dog's Attention (And Keep It!)

Transform you training sessions, and build an even better bond

Does your dog checkout whilst you're training?

Or ignore you on walks?

These simple games will begin to strengthen your bond with your dog, and help develop a relationship where they want to train anywhere and everywhere.

Just imagine having a dog that hangs on your every word - no longer fighting for their attention, rather struggling to get rid of them!

What You’ll Learn: Five Games to Transform Your Training

  • Ready, Go! – teaching your dog to wait for a release
  • Not That One – learning that delay pays off
  • Reverse Luring – a fun way to build duration
  • Get It Bowl – adding distractions into your training
  • Chase – let’s get moving and build enthusiasm!

Each game has a purpose, and together they’ll change the way you and your dog look at training 💕

Who's It For?

  • Dog owners whose dogs “check out” or get distracted during training
  •  Walkers who feel invisible to their dogs once the lead goes on
  • Anyone wishing for a dog that gives them their full attention when it matters most
  • Owners who want a super-charged recall and stronger bond without endless drilling

Rather than reaching for better treats, I’ll show you how changing how you deliver rewards can turbo-boost your training sessions.

I found this out the hard way with my own spaniel, Ripley. He often didn’t want to train with me; wandering off to sniff or ignoring cues he’d already learned. It would have been easy to blame him, but really, I needed to make the training more rewarding.

Once I started mixing up our reward delivery, suddenly training with me was worth his time. The process itself became exciting, and people often comment on the incredible attention Ripley gives me now. That’s something you can achieve too.

This isn’t about just throwing food for your dog. These are strategic games that teach focus, build patience and help you keep your dog’s attention without relying on always having food in your hand.

Hi, I'm your host - Sara

I'm a Crocs wearing, treat bag toting, bobble hatted dog training nerd. Like, properly geeky 😁 Short version, saw agility at Crufts on the telly in the 90s, decided I wanted to do it, moved out of home, got a dog, moved back in (parents had said we couldn't get another dog 😉 ) Fast forward to the present day, and I'm still competing in agility, now with my fourth agility dog.

I'm all about choice and respect in dog training - for dogs and their guardians alike. I also love coming up with out-of-the-box solutions.

I'm ably assisted in all things dog training by my two spaniels, Ripley and Peak. That's who you'll be seeing in the video demos!

Got questions? I've got answers!

Absolutely. There's no special equipment required!

It should be - you may need to adapt things a little depending on your dog's current capabilities.

I don't know! Best to check a currency converter as the exact amount will vary from day to day.

No problem - send and email to hello@compasscanine.co.uk and I'd be happy to help.
